Business terms

These terms tell you what your Business agrees to when it joins Areacodes.

Who we are

These terms are an agreement between AREA CODES LTD and your Business. Our company number is 17312325. Our registered office is 1 Bond Street Cottages, Brighton BN1 1RP.

In these terms, you means the Business. The person who agrees for the Business must have the authority to do so.

A Business is one trading location. If you have two shops, each shop is a different Business with its own Business PIN.

Version: 16 September 2026

Your profile and the portal

During the pilot, we make your profile. You then edit it in the business portal. You must keep your profile, your opening hours and your offers correct.

A Business member signs in to the portal for you. Keep that sign-in secure. We never sign in as your Business. When we withdraw a Voucher, cancel Claims, reverse a Redemption, remove an image, remove a Business member or close your Business, we record the action and the reason.

These terms do not include a fee. If we want to charge a fee, we agree it with you in writing first.

Your Vouchers

You write each Voucher. You set its title, its value in money, its validity dates, and the days and times when Consumers can redeem it. You can also limit the number of Claims.

You must honour each Outstanding Claim until it expires. This applies when you withdraw a Voucher, and when we suspend your Business. When you withdraw a Voucher, Consumers cannot claim it again.

Your offers must obey the law. If the law sets a minimum age for goods in an offer, Staff must check the age of the Consumer. The app does not check age.

We do not change the words or the money of your Voucher. If an offer is illegal or harmful, we can cancel all Outstanding Claims on it. We record that action and the reason.

The Business PIN

You set your Business PIN in the portal. To redeem a Claim, Staff type the PIN on the phone of the Consumer. When they type it, your Business attests that:

  • The Redemption happened at your premises.
  • The Consumer met the conditions of the Voucher, for example a minimum spend.

We record each Redemption as a fact. Your dashboard shows these records. We do not delete or change a Redemption. We can mark a Redemption as reversed to correct an error.

Give the PIN only to your Staff. If a different person gets the PIN, change it in the portal. A Consumer who knows the PIN can only redeem their own Claims.

Staff

Staff are the people who serve at your counter. Staff do not have an account. A person who knows your Business PIN acts for your Business, and your Business is responsible for what that person does with the PIN.

There is one PIN for each Business. A Redemption does not show which person typed the PIN.

Photos and content

When you give us a photo, a logo or text for your profile, you confirm that:

  • You own each photo and text that you give us, or you have the right to give it to us.
  • You have permission from each person that a photo shows.
  • If a person in a photo asks you to remove it, you tell us.

You give us permission to show this content in the Areacodes app, on this site and in our portals. This permission stops when we remove the content.

We can remove any image. A program checks some images for us. If a person in a photo asks us to remove it, we remove it in one month or less.

How the agreement ends

You can leave at any time. Send an email to ten@acbrighton.com. We can also end the agreement if your Business does not obey these terms.

We can suspend your Business for a short time. You must honour Outstanding Claims during a suspension.

When your Business stops trading and does not open again, we close it on Areacodes. You cannot undo a closure. When we close it:

  • We cancel all Outstanding Claims on your Vouchers. We do not tell the Consumers.
  • We delete your profile content, your images and your contact details.
  • The name of your Business changes to Closed business.
  • We remove the portal access of each Business member.
  • We keep each Redemption, because it is a record of what happened.

If you sell your Business, tell us. We give portal access to the new owner. The Redemptions stay with the Business.

Our responsibility

We try to keep Areacodes available, but we cannot promise that it always operates. We cannot promise a number of Consumers or Redemptions.

We are not responsible for lost profit or for a loss that we could not expect when you agreed to these terms. These terms do not limit our responsibility for death or injury that our negligence causes, or for fraud.

Changes to these terms

We can change these terms. The version date on this page shows the last change. If you continue on Areacodes after a change, the new terms apply.

Law and contact

The law of England and Wales applies to these terms. Only the courts of England and Wales can decide a dispute.

If you have a question about these terms, send an email to ten@acbrighton.com.
